About me

My journey in construction started long before I ever owned a business. I grew up in a working-class family in Buffalo, New York, where hard work wasn’t just encouraged, it was expected. As a kid, I spent my summers helping my dad with concrete work and other projects with his friends. Those early days on job sites taught me the value of showing up early, doing things the right way, and taking pride in the work you leave behind.

Over the years, that early exposure turned into a lifelong passion. I continued building my skills across multiple trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical coordination, and finish work, gaining a deep understanding of how homes are built from the ground up. That hands-on experience eventually led me to start my own company and bring my approach to construction to homeowners here in Portland.

What drives me today isn’t just building projects, it’s building trust and creating spaces that improve people’s lives. I genuinely enjoy working with homeowners, helping them solve problems, and turning ideas into something real and lasting.

When I’m not working, I try to spend as much time outside as possible. I love hiking and exploring the outdoors, especially here in the Pacific Northwest. I also enjoy the occasional movie or night out with my wife. Most of all, I love being a dad. Spending time with my son and sharing experiences with him is one of the most meaningful parts of my life.

My journey in construction started long before Tim ever owned a business. I grew up in a working-class family in Antioch, Illinois, before moving to Portland, Oregon. As a young man, I spent many years working various jobs until Tim Becker hired me as his helper back in 2022. For three years, he worked as Tim’s sole employee as Tim got his construction business off the ground.

In 2025, I left the company to pursue other passions, which include writing fiction novels. So far, as of writing this, I have published three novels, with more on the way. I am happily married with two cats to keep my wife and me happy. Together we collect and play board games, especially on a rainy day.

In early 2026, I came back to Becker Custom PDX as the office manager, and though I had loved working in the field for the previous three years, I am glad to be out of the field and behind a desk.
